HELLOS - 2012
Updated April 28, 2012
Here is my new e-mail address.
Sue, Please make a note of my email change from:
rsabo@gte.net to
rsabo59@att.net I really thank you guys at the Rusty Pipeliner for all that
you do for keeping us updated. Please change the Email Directory, also. Thanks. Ron Sabo Thank you for publishing the pipeliner. It keeps us
informed very well. Thanks again, Alvin Antley Linda, Noticed I needed to make a payment for the pipeliner news
that I enjoy so much. Hope everything with you and Joe is going fine.
Tell Joe I said “Hi”. As always, Cotton Arnold Dear Rusty Pipeliner Editors, It is time for me to thank you for all the time and hard work
invested in keeping this group informed of news about one another. I am
enclosing my donation to continue this wonderful service. Although I know fewer and fewer of the former employees named
in this publication, I do not want to give it up. After all, Doyle left
EPNG in 1978 and a lot of employees have come and gone since then.
However, they will all be special people in my mind as we were all “family”
during the time Doyle was with the company. Thank you again, Pat Balko Midland, TX [Pat, it wouldn’t be a family without you! Sue Gibson] We have lived at Shamrock for over 30 years. The older
we get, we remember all our friends and co-workers with El Paso. How
blessed we were to work for a wonderful company. To all our friends, we
say hello. Carson and Jeanette Bird Shamrock, TX Thank you for your continued work in keeping the retirees up
to date on our old friends. We need all the help we can get. All is
fine here on the Clear Fork of the Brazos River out of Abilene. We do have
a little water but sure could use lots more, as everyone else could. Need
the fish to return to the river. Pray everyone is well and ready for the warm summer and those
wonderful gardens. Pray our bodies hold up. Take care. Roger & Iwanda Boyd Abilene, TX Here’s a check to help pay the expenses. I enjoy the
news very much. Thanks, Russell Brey Hi, Here is a check for another year of the pipeliners. Thanks, Bob & Lillian Ray Champion P. O. Box 1243 Denver City, TX 79323-1243 Dear Sue and Linda, We want to let you know what a good job you do getting us the
Rusty Pipeliner. We really appreciate your efforts. We are happy
about Sue’s rapid recovery. Eleanor and I are still in Sun City in
Georgetown, TX and she is still working on her blood pressure issues! I am
in very good health thanks to all that good exercise I had working hard for El
Paso Natural Gas! We are enjoying our retirement here and would love to
see any of our old friends if they come through. Sincerely, Glenn & Eleanor Cook 111 Mustang Island Trl. Georgetown, TX 78633-5303
Hello: To All of You, Another year has passed. We’re hoping and praying for
more moisture in ole West Texas in 2012. The oil field is booming in
Gardendale, TX, Odessa and Midland and the surrounding areas. It happens
right out our back door. Thanks for doing the Rusty Pipeliner news. You’re all
appreciated. Jimmy & Jane Cowan Gardendale, TX It has been awhile since we have sent in for a
renewal/donation for the Rusty Pipeliner and we have missed receiving it.
We do thank you all for the hard work on the Pipeliner. Sue, Sonny and I
wish you a full recovery! Sonny & Rayla Dakan 6517 S. Thomason Rd Carlsbad, NM 88220-9358 [Thanks Rayla – I talked with Judy Traylor Hall last week and
she’s busy making and selling quilts – sounds just like Judy! Sue] Cassie and I always enjoy hearing about “old” friends. Wayne Dallas Farmington, NM Dear Linda & Crew, We received this month’s Rusty Pipeliner and realized it was
time to renew our subscription. We really enjoy reading the news “new &
old” from the other EPNG families. I was going through some old pictures
and ran across one of our oldest daughter (1958) with her 2 year birthday cake.
Stan went to work for the company in 1958. We lived in the El Paso camp at
Lindrith in a 30 foot mobile home with a 2 year old and a newborn. Brings
back lots of good memories. It is hard to believe it has been that long.
What a good run!!! Stan & Leota Dornik 6301 Camino Entierro # 24 La Mesa, NM 88044-9302 P. S.
We finally have an e-mail address:
LSBDornik@gmail.com
Dear Sue & Staff, We really appreciate all your work on the pipeliner.
I’m sending our dues for 2012. Thank you for all your work. Hope you
can read this letter. Sincerely, Wiley (Red) Drury [Red, your letter was quite legible –
thank you!] Annual contribution enclosed. Pray Sue is improving. Thank you, Rosemary Ten Eyck [Thanks Rosemary – getting better just seems to take TOO
long!] Dear Linda, Enclosed is my check for 2012 and for once it is not late.
I enjoy reading the hard copy over the internet access so thanks for all the
work involved in producing the printed version. Sincerely, Ray Faircloth Ruidoso, NM Well, my address label tells me it is time to send in my
annual dues. So, I’ve enclosed my check for another year. No jokes this year; I’ll be somber. I want Sue to know
that my love and prayers are with her for a short time – complete recovery.
And, to the rest of the staff, thank you for what you do for us – Good Job!!!! [Thanks Louie – I know your love and prayers are working – I
can feel it! Sue] Louie E. Fink Benson, AZ Hi, Thank you so much for all the work everyone does to bring us
the Rusty Pipeliner. You all do a great job. We look forward to
receiving it and getting all the news. We hope Sue is doing much better
now and will continue to do so. Our yearly check is enclosed. Thanks again. God’s blessings to all. Nevin & Kathy Foster Granbury, TX [Thanks Nevin & Kathy – I still remember the fun party at
your place not long after I came to Midland – many happy memories.] Enclosed is a check for two years subscription! Better
late than never. Nadine Hays Midland, TX Hi, all you exes from long ago: Hulan and I both enjoy reading the RP. We are here in
Midland and doing fairly well for people who have as many birthdays as we’ve
had. Here’s hoping Sue gets all well soon. Hulan & Virginia Harrison Midland, TX [Thanks to you both – working on getting better but I still
miss Midland. Sue] I am sending my yearly donation. Thank you for all that
you do. Minnie and I are doing OK – slowing down a lot, but still able to
get around. Jack & Minnie Hedgpeth P. O. Box 1045 Jal, NM 88252-1045 It is time to send in another year’s donation. We are
both still doing pretty good for two old people. We still enjoy getting
the Rusty Pipeliner and hearing about old friends. Unfortunately, we find
too many in the obituaries – guess that comes with our ages. Thanks so
much for all the hard work that everyone continues to do so we can keep up. Benny and Donna Hendricks 6607 Chicago Ave. Lubbock, TX 79424-1521 Please renew the pipeliner news for me. Keep up the
good work. Thank you, Jo Holub Midland, TX Enclosed is a check for the pipeliner for another year.
Thanks so much for all your work. We enjoy it. Jerald & Mickie Jones 108 Par Circle Comanche, TX 76442-9270 Greetings: My thanks
and congratulations to fine folks who keep the Rusty Pipeliner going. Sue,
I hope you continue to get better; we miss you and the
economy needs a bump. Calvin Luther Granbury, TX [Hi Calvin – thanks for the good wishes and we still plan on
getting down to Granbury to see everyone – as soon as I can!] We are sending in our subscription for 2012 of the Rusty
Pipeliner. We enjoy the news of the special friends we found in the EPNG
circuit. Thanks for keeping it going. Dave & Lucy McFadden Willis, TX This is a much loved uncle of mine. He is the last one
(uncle) of my family. Thanks, Alene McCalib Odessa, TX [Please see Good-Byes.]
Linda, Charlie, & Sue, Thanks for your continued hard work on the RPN. I enjoy
reading about old friends and acquaintances. Gas patch people from back
then are a special breed. Best wishes especially to Sue; I hope her ornery
left leg straightens out and flies right soon. Best regards, Paul Milios Katy, TX [Thanks Paul – had back surgery a couple of weeks ago so I’m
no longer lurching around like a drunken marionette!] Hi Everyone, I sure like to get the Rusty Pipeliner. Norma had a bad
wreck with a drunk driver on December 15, 2011 as we were on our way to AZ for
Christmas and New Year’s. Norma was flown back to Farmington and I drove
the pickup back as we were taking the car and pickup so she could stay longer.
Her left foot had four bones broken and the calf mashed real bad. It took
all winter but she is walking real good now. It is spring time on the farm and lots to do. We have
13 lambs now and more on the way. Thank you, Cleve & Norma Noble Bloomfield, NM [What good news about Norma!] Thanks to all of you working on the Rusty Pipeliner News. Every issue
has us reminiscing. I’m enclosing our donation and change of address for
e-mail. All lowercase letters:
ameliaonan5241@comcast.net .
(I can spell reminisce but I can’t spell letters.) Our best to all, Jim & Amelia O’Nan Farmington, NM Thanks for the good work you do. O. E. P. – Oran E. Poff Farmington, NM Please add me to the mailing list for the pipeliner. I
miss the old pipeliners and award books; I have several issues – somewhere. I started out at Blanco Plant, Bloomfield, NM, transferred to
San Juan River Plant at Kirtland, NM. When they sold SJRP, they sent me to
Tucson Station. I transferred back to Blanco Plant in Bloomfield and
retired from there. Thanks, John Richey 4902 Poquita St. Farmington, NM 87402-8351 We are still very busy helping Disabled American Veterans by
driving the DAV van from Farmington to Albuquerque. I also transport
prisoners for the San Juan County Sheriff Office. We have some of our great grandchildren with us most of the
time. They are a great blessing. Here is the donation for the news. Regards, Dan & Ruth Roberts 913 N. Lincoln Ave. Farmington, NM 87401-6033 Pipeliner News Staff, I have enjoyed all the years with the news. But now, I
am having trouble reading, so, this is probably my last subscription. W. M. (Bill) Rodgers 6701 Amarinta Ave. Unit 103 Las Vegas, NV 89108-0324

Updated March 28, 2012
[Many, many thanks to everyone for all the good wishes and prayers that have come my way. I'm so thankful for being part of the EPNG family and being in your thoughts has really helped. Just had another MRI today and am scheduled for an EMG on Friday to try to find out why my left foot keeps flopping around like it has a mind of its own. Keeps life exciting though never knowing which direction part of you will be heading! Sue Gibson]
Well, it’s
time to pay up again. Margaret and I are doing well. I had double
knee replacement in Lubbock on November 10. We stayed in Lubbock the rest
of the month of November and did some therapy there. Then, came back to
Carlsbad and finished therapy. Everything is looking good and we are
looking forward to some traveling with our 5th
wheel this summer. Thanks for doing the Pipeliner. Bill L. Anderson Carlsbad, NM Dear Linda, Enclosed is our annual donation. Thanks to you,
Charlie, Jimmy and the rest of the Rusty Pipeliner crew for keeping the old
flame burning bright. I keep up with Sue on Facebook and, of course, wish
her the very best. Rick Baish Cloudcroft, NM Dear All Seven Officers, Rachel and I have been married for 58 years and have three

like ages ago (after almost 33 years service) that I retired. This May, I
will have been retired for 20 years. After retirement, I raised beef
cattle for 18 years. After that, I sold the farm and moved to town – (what
a change!) I really look forward to my Rusty Pipeliner each month and
appreciate the great job from everyone on the staff. Millard Britton Monett, MO Thanks for your continued dedication. Rochelle Clack Anthony, NM Linda, Thanks for all that you do. We look forward to getting
the Rusty Pipeliner. We hope our donation gets to you before we miss an
issue! Much has changed in our lives in the last year. We made

fun. We’ll get used to it. Thanks again for doing such a wonderful job. Enclosed

Thank you for all the work you do keeping up with the news of the retirees.
It is so good to hear about the ones you cared for and knew. Thanks again, Bud & Mary Sue Harrison Midland, TX Thank you very much, Garry & Marie Henderson Yuma, AZ Well another year has come and gone so it is now time to pay
our dues. Things here in Brownwood are about the same. Retirees
continue to meet at Underwood’s on the third Tuesday on the odd number month.
Then on the even number, we meet at the Section Hand. Time is 5:30.
We average from ten to fifteen each month. We know there are a lot of
Retirees in our area and we would love to have you join us. Come and see
old friends and make some new friends. Then, mark your calendar now to go
to Stephenville, Texas on June 2 for the yearly reunion. If you have an
RV, plan to come and spend the week before at the Park. You will surely
enjoy it. ‘Til next year, Jack and Joyce Hill
The Stephenville Reunion is always the first Saturday in
June. This year it will be June 2, 2012. Those with RV's come about a
week or so and camp in the city park. We invite all those with RV's to join us.
We have lots of games, visiting and eating. On Friday night those who wish,
meet up at the large shed and visit. On Saturday, we gather about ten o'clock
and at noon enjoy a Pot Luck lunch together. It is a fun time to renew old
friendships and meet new ones. So, everyone come on to Stephenville.
Enclosed is two years subscription for the Rusty Pipeliner
news. Thanks for the dedication and hard work you all do in bringing the
R. P. news to the past and present EPNG employees. Thanks, Oscar S. & Patricia Howard Depew, OK Dear Linda, Thanks for keeping us up on our friends. See you in
Stephenville in June. Clent & Imogene Kniffen P. O. Box 1355 Clyde, TX 79510-1355 I guess I’m late again with my renewal. That’s not
surprising, because I haven’t worn a watch since I retired, and I rarely look at
a calendar. Carol and I are having a wonderful time travelling, working on
the house and starting new hobbies. The only thing better than working for
EPNG is not working at all. Thanks to you good folks who keep the RPL News and the
retiree meetings going. Charlie Mathis Dear Linda, Thank you so much for keeping us informed with all the news
of the people we knew at the El Paso plants. I am sending in donations for us and our son who also worked
for El Paso Natural Gas and Meridian Oil Company. I believe I sent you his address last year. It is:

She works for the Railroad Commission. Thanks again for all you do! Mack & Loweta McMurrain Linda: That time again for a little “green” to keep the news coming.

not in the 21st

know of him not suffering any longer. Thank you for all of your work on the newsletter. It is
appreciated by many. Evylena Smith Waldren (Daughter of Ben & Oleta Smith – retired in 1981 from Kermit) [Note: Please see

that you do and may the Lord bless you. Dutch Dear Sue & Linda, Yeah, I did it again – dropped the ball by forgetting to mail
in my renewal way back in October 2011. Well, please accept this check to
cover two more years. I was saddened to read in the RPN December 2011 issue of the
passing of Al McMahon. We were close neighbors in Farmington prior to my
departure to the Algerian Project in mid 1977. Al & Ida were sure good
people. Wayne &
Elsie McKibben have done something right – 64th
Wedding Anniversary! While Wayne was Superintendent over the Lincoln
Complex in 1967, I was privileged to be his Senior Instrument Technician.
They live about three blocks from my home now but we seldom ever see each other.
We’re running in different circles all the time! I really appreciate all the work you girls do to keep us up
to date about current events and what everyone is doing. Keep up the good

Year to all and have a blessed year ahead. We are sending our donation and

bill-carol@dellcity.com . We appreciate
you all so much and always look forward to the pipeliner. Thanks so very much, Bill & Carol Wauson P. O. Box 44 Timberon, NM 88350-0044 Hi Linda, Sorry our check is late. Seems we are always running
behind schedule these days. 2011 was more eventful than we care to
remember! The Monument Fire in the Huachuca Mountains was horrifying.
It came within a mile of our home and within a block of our daughter’s home.
We were evacuated for eight days. Our daughter and her family were out of
their home 10 days. They and their animals came here first. Two days
later, we all had to evacuate. We were loading animals and what little
possessions we could in a very very short time. In all, we moved 17
horses, four large dogs, two medium dogs, three Toy Poodles, three cats and,
lest we forget, a Boa Python that belongs to our grandson! We did all that
in about four hours (don’t ask me how) while smoke and ashes were blowing in. It is a strange and heart-wrenching experience to walk away
from all you’ve worked for in 50 years of marriage. How fortunate we were,
we came back to an intact home; many people did not. Overall, we have
settled back in and pray for rain daily so we never have to repeat this
experience! Our best to all, Jim and Janice Wise I’m enclosing my donation for the Rusty Pipeliner’s News.
Thanks so much for your time and work to keep us informed. Carolyn Wolford 2514 Quail Chase Ct. Sellersburg, IN 47172-9149 To our on-line contributors – a special
Thank You to Cathy Banner, Robert Horn and Dayton Poe.

Thank you so much for all your hard work. We are still living in Carlsbad. Ralph is still
inspecting and I am doing well. It’s always nice to read about old El Paso
friends. Enclosed is our donation. Ralph & Wanda Maxwell Phone: 575-887-2397 Dear Linda, Received my pipeliner today and see it’s time to pay my
dues again. So please find enclosed check and Thank You for all your hard
work. It was real nice to see a lot of familiar faces in the Retiree
Roundup. My wife and I are doing well. The Lord has been good to us
and we are reasonably healthy and have a lot to be thankful for. Thanks again, George Miles Orange, TX Linda, We need to send you some money and would like to
correct my address. This change is due to us selling our house to our son
and daughter-in-law. They were kind enough to let us put a bed in the
detached garage. Therefore, we are at 938 ½ rather than 938. Seeing all the pictures in the November news reinforces
the image in the mirror – Ha! Isn’t it great we are still here? Wayne & Leona Oakley Thank you very much for your love and concern over the
loss of Harold. Evelyn & Jim Pofahl [Please see Good-Byes. Harold
Chesak was Evelyn Pofahl’s brother.] To the Staff of the Rusty Pipeliner News: Merry Christmas! Thanks for all the work that is put into the Rusty
