CHAMBER OF COMMERCE HONORS COMMUNITY SERVICE, ITS OWN. (Headline and story from The Eloy Enterprise) "It's All About Eloy." (this year's theme).
Dave Myers accepts the Chamber's 2007 Good Citizen award from emcee David Fitzgibbons. Myers received the award for being the glue that helps the city remember its history. . The Eloy Chamber of Commerce held its 2007 Annual Dinner and Awards Banquet Saturday night January 20th at the Robson Ranch Resort. Dick Myers, Eloy's semi-official historian enjoyed his moment under the lights as the recipient of the 2006 Good Citizen of the Year Award. He works long hours at the Sunland Visitors' Center, and has also led the effort to raise $30,000 for refurbishment of the old Toltec School as a new home for the Santa Cruz Valley Historic Museum. His roots and his willingness to help go deep into the soil of Eloy and Pinal county.
His award plaque reads; GOOD CITIZEN - presented to DICK MYERS - In grateful Appreciation for your years of Outstanding Service and Devotion Thank You - The Eloy Chamber of Commerce - 2006
