THE LUNCH BUNCH: July 2007

Dateline: July 13, 2007. Luby's Cafeteria, Chelsea & Montana, El Paso

Good to see that we are all still hanging in there. Missed Jerry Cooper this month. He's probably galivanting all over the Southwest. Hooter said to say "Hi" to Mike Mattes. Consider it done. Gordy wanted Mike Mattes to know that he and wife Betty are volunteering at Sierra Medical Center. Gordy's post is the information desk. Betty does whatever is needed anywhere in the Hospital. Hugo is going to try to get wife Delia to join us next month. She is the official baby sitter for her growing army of grandchildren. See photos of the crew below.

Update on Bob Barton:  Mike Mattes relayed this to me thru Bob. Bob was having a battle with cancer in the neck area as I recall. He was undergoing treatments for some time. They stopped treatment to see how Bob would respond. After a period of time was feeling well enough to get out and play. Here are the current results:

         1. He resumed his passion for golf.

         2. He played 18 holes

         3. Had a 'hole-in-one'.

I'd say he's doing better than the average bear!
